Today I realized something important after reading a former colleague's LinkedIn profile. Hers is stellar. So then I wondered, if someone from my current workplace would write a recommendation for me, what would there be to highlight? Nothing. I could not think of anything outstanding that I have done. What if there will come a time when the company has to cut its manpower? Am I worth keeping? The answer would have to be YES. I need to prove that I deserve to be kept and that I did not get this job solely because of my connection.

My goal is to step up my work game. I need to communicate more with my boss and learn as much as I can from him while he's still with the company. Last week I felt as though he has plans of leaving. What would I do when he does leave? Would I be able to handle it?

I need to focus more on what I do and find ways to improve my skills. I will make this happen.
