2010!

2010 was a fantastic year.

  • I endured 6 long months of being away from my other half. Having him back was one of the best moments of 2010.
  • I took chances. I gave up my job in LA not knowing if I will ever find a new one. I did it because I did not want to be away from Rey anymore.
  • ...and that decision went really really well. As an added bonus to togetherness, I GOT HIRED! not just for some random job but for one that I enjoy and am great at.
  • We went to new places!
    • Coronado Bay in San Diego - super nice. We stayed at a great hotel, ate lunch by the beach, strolled by a nice strip of shops, spent a day at the zoo and another at Seaworld. The highlights of that vacation were the 7.5 magnitude earthquake that happened while we were enjoying some drinks in our hotel room, the most expensive dinner date ever in which we had our best-tasting steak ever, and seeing pandas!
    • San Francisco - an All-American experience. It was great having our first long trip with Rey's family and 3 of our best friends. We saw the Golden Gate Bridge, which was not gold but was a thrill to see! :) We went to the picturesque Palace of Fine Arts. Union Square reminded me so much of Tokyo. While walking around that area, I was thinking that it is a good thing I do not live within tolerable driving distance. Otherwise we'd always be broke. The Fisherman's Wharf was nice. It could have been nicer if there weren't so many people. :)
    • Reno, Nevada - Crazy. The best part of that trip was driving by the Tahoe National Forest in Highway 20. My jaw dropped. I've never seen so many trees that tall! It was beautiful. Yet another proof that God is amazing. The other great part of the trip was being with our friends. They are awesome! Lots of laughing moments, endless picture taking, and they enjoyed playing with Kenshin! The other parts of the trip were alright. Reno is the kind of place where if you've been there once, that's it. There's nothing to look forward to that will make you want to go back. We stayed at a Casino Hotel which was not too bad until we had this unpleasant experience during the night. There were a lot of DRUNK and UNRULY college kids. :| NOT GOOD at all.  It was my first time in gambling too, and guess what? There is no such thing as beginner's luck. It was fun at first but in the end Rey and I lost a great deal of money. I will never gamble again.
  • At  age 2 1/2, my son has mastered the alphabet and knows how to write them, too. He can count from 1 to 50. I am amazed. :) This kid learns so fast.
  • 2010 marked our 5th year together as a couple. So happy!
  • I got SKINNY! :D :D :D I was at my skinniest ever in 2010 at 110 lbs. In January, I started going to the gym twice a week. I would walk 7 blocks to the gym and 7 blocks back to my workplace. My breakfast was usually just a cup of coffee or when I had time, I'd grab a breakfast sandwich at subway. Lunch was always an indulgence of iced coffee and a piece of pastry from Paris Baguette. Dinner was usually nothing. Not the healthiest way to live but YEYYY! I did it and felt great about myself.
  • The worst part of the year was losing a dear uncle from heart attack in January. I was shocked and depressed for a couple of weeks. :( :(
  • Being with Rey and Kenshin for the holidays was FUN! Too bad we weren't able to drive down to LA and celebrate with Rey's family due to military restrictions. Oh well.
So there. The highlights of the year that was. :)
